Unforeseen Obstacles – Don’t Give Up

How’s it going?

You set great goals in January! You determined your “why” (If not, read my Jan newsletter.) and now February is here. How are you doing? Are you still doing great or did you have a hard time following through? My hope is that you are still moving forward with your health. However, there are many things that can stop us.

Some are unforeseen.  Work schedule change, surgery, a death in the family, new job, extra family activities, injury. These obstacles can become so discouraging that you want to give up. I’m here to say, “Don’t quit!” These obstacles may slow you down or stop you this week, but they are not permanent. Now is the time to re-evaluate and look at the obstacle for what it is. For example, if you were on your way to work and there was an “obstacle” in the road, would you say, “Forget this! I’m turning around and going home!”? Would you call yourself a failure because you couldn’t get to work exactly as intended? Would you quit your job? No. You would either wait for the “obstacle” to pass or you would find a detour. You would get to work at the best time possible.

The journey for good health can be very similar. At times, it is easy and at other times it has bumps, curves, hills, and obstacles. The key is to never quit. Re-assess, learn from it, and keep going.

If you ever need someone to talk with or vent on when life throws you a curve . . . or an obstacle . . . please give me a call. I understand and would be happy to give you a free hour of my time to vent and brainstorm about your health.

Here’s a positive affirmation that has stuck with me through the years. It has helped me and I trust it will help you: “I will go over. I will go around. I will go through–to reach my goals. Because I am highly motivated, truly dedicated, and extremely successful. YES!!”

Have a fabulous fit February!
